our founders

ross parlane is the face and founder of RPB and has two barber shops in manchester’s northern quarter. he trained at mahogany hairdressing and worked at various barber shops in manchester before starting his own in 2015 and opening his second in 2017. a respected name in the industry, he’s spent his career testing products and talking to clients about what they do and don’t want in order to inform his own range.

 

dan is ross’s brother-in-law and has spent 15 years testing and writing about grooming products for the likes of mr porter in new york and men’s health magazine in london. consulting for and personally getting to know the founders of several grooming brands over the years has given dan unique insight into the industry – as well as many valuable contacts to call on for start-up advice. dan looks after alott’s strategy, branding, positioning and website content.

 

alott is a family business: sam is ross’s sister and is married to dan. the three of them first sketched out the idea for this brand on the back of a napkin over dinner in new york in 2016. sam’s career to date has been in consumer pr and marketing in london, sydney and new york. she runs alott day to day, project managing all aspects of the brand from product manufacture to packaging to order fulfilment.
